  • Creator Backlash: Klayton has called the debut album from Circle of Dust, an early band that he was involved in, an "abomination" and says that he would destroy every copy of it if he had the chance. However, he might have changed his mind since he remastered it and gave it an updated track list, likely more in line with what he originally wanted from the album.
  • Development Hell: Due to the album's Troubled Production, many projects pertaining to Wish Upon a Blackstar (music videos, contests, and even a remix album) seemingly fell through or were unceremoniously abandoned.
    • More followups to Cellout EP; He's flip-flopped between planning on doing more or not.
  • Fan Community Nickname: Cellmates.
  • Milestone Celebration: The debut album was re-released on vinyl in 2023 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. A new remix of “Switchback” with The Browning was also made to commemorate the anniversary.
  • Saved from Development Hell: Remixed Upon A Blackstar eventually dropped in 2018, after a six year gap.
  • Extremely Lengthy Creation: Wish Upon a Blackstar. Production began in early 2005... and finished in 2012. Somewhat mitigated when Klayton started releasing "chapters" in 2009.
    • Soundtrack for the Voices in My Head, Vol. 3 looks like it's going to be this too; the first "chapter" was released in 2013, then radio silence until September 2016 when the full album was finally released.
  • What Could Have Been: "Unshakeable" was submitted to the Rock Band Network, but was never made officially available to download.
