• Completely Different Title:
  • Finnish: Intohimon Aave (Ghost of Passion)
  • French: La boule de Thésulah (The orb of Thesulah)
  • German: Das Jenseits lässt grüßen (Greetings from the Afterlife)
• Creator's Favorite Episode: In an interview with The BBC, Anthony Stewart Head says this is his favorite episode, "because it was a beautifully shot episode and a beautifully written one."
• Enforced Method Acting: According to Anthony Stewart Head, Joss Whedon hooked up a phone line so Giles was really speaking on the phone with Buffy and Willow, to get a better reaction out of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Oz was originally supposed to be killed by Angel, but his character had a lot of potential, so the decision was made to bump off Jenny instead.
  • Jenny Calendar was supposed to have died in an earlier episode, "Innocence", presumably in place of Uncle Enyos.
  • The speech that Angel gives is completely different from the one that was in the original script. The cheerful original version was as follows:
    Passion, it is born, and though uninvited, unwelcome, unwanted like a cancer, it takes root. It festers. It bleeds. It scabs only to rupture, and bleed anew.
