Trivia / Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy

• California Doubling: Although the movie really was mostly filmed in Italy, the producers were denied permission to shoot in Perugia for obvious reasons - it was filmed in Rome, and hence the scene of Rudy Guede being arrested in Germany is this trope played straight (as are, presumably, the US-shot scenes in Seattle).
• Fake Nationality: British actor Vincent Riotta plays an Italian prosecutor.
• Playing Against Type: Although she's played girls who've been accused of murder before at least twice though in those cases her characters definitely did it, and in at least one case there were extenuating circumstances, for those who've only seen or can only ever see Hayden Panettiere as the cheerleader from Heroes, it's a surprise.
