  • The implication that Sean has no real parental guidance in his life, hence his behavior - his father and mother are implied to have been divorced for some time, and his mother is clearly not a strong influence in his life.
    • Then to get sent to a country he knows nothing about, nor probably even wants to go to, without any prep, if he hadn't met Han, he would probably have fell right back into the same habits that got him sent there in the first place.
  • The scene where Kamata visits his nephew is quite poignant if you understand Japanese culture and values. DK missing Han's Stealing from the Till is a fairly common mistake for most inexperienced business associates, but from Takashi's and Kamata's perspective, this is a major oversight that undermines Takashi's credibility to truly join his uncle in his business. Even though Kamata seemed to gently admonish his nephew for this slip-up, he forlornly gazes on a photo of DK's father and states how much he missed him, which is implied to be Kamata expressing (if sadly) that Takashi is far from the man his father was. In a culture where honoring your family is a major deal, this is perhaps the worse kind of reprimanding that DK could have gotten (enough for him to shed a Single Tear upon his uncle departing).
    • He's understandably furious when he confronts Han for his embezzling (quickly revealed to be murderously so), but even moreso he sounded genuinely betrayed, now having actually treated Han like a partner. Han just callously brushes him off as "this is what [he] does."
  • Han's crash and "death". Sean's reaction to it, too - Neela has to physically drag him away.
