- In the movie finale:
- Betty has been forced to box in fixed matches as she has no other way to make ends meet. Doubly so because she's also staying away from Kate, who thinks Betty hates her.
- Clifford is murdered early on in the film, which means Gladys has now lost two lovers in the space of two years.
- Marco learns that Vera died overseas.
