  • Micki calls the hired goons who beat up Dror in the beginning ‘Shimshon and Yovav’, the Hebrew names given to Boro the Fox and Dora the Cat on Piccolino no Boukennote ; this was changed to ‘Beavis and Butt-Head’.
  • Rami calls the three men torturing Dror the ‘Ma Kashur trio’ (a popular Israeli comedy troupe); it was translated as ‘The Three Stooges’ (who are virtually unknown in Israel).
  • Tsvika calls the viral video of the beating a ‘Fisfusim clip’; this was changed to ‘Bloopers’, its Transatlantic Equivalent.
  • Micki tells Tsvika the video will wind up on Tsinor Layla, a show about news reported online, internet culture, and technology, that frequently airs viral videos; in English, it was just ‘the news’.
  • The scene in which Micki orders Dror to dig and threats him with a gun, and Dror claims he’s insane, is a subtle and very dark reference to a Black Comedy scene from Operation Grandma.
  • In the English translation, Gidi calls Dror a Smurf, one of several lines implying that Dror is short. (In Hebrew he just calls him ‘shorty’.)
  • Gidi calls Dror ‘Tiptipon’, the Hebrew name of Willabit; in English, he called him ‘shorty’.
