- The Dark Stories Trilogy:
- Founder of the Dark (2005): A prequel to the first two installments. Has no remake.
- Advent of the Lord of Dark (1998): A reimagining of the sordid tale of Live A Live's Middle Ages chapter. Has a remake, Live Side & Evil Side (2006), featuring a POV from the villain.
- Reincarnation of the Lord of Dark (2001): The final chapter, featuring an entirely new story with no time travel. Has a remake, MAOUTENSYOU (2008), that ties into Live Side & Evil Side.
R:MIX provides examples of the following tropes:
- Downer Ending: They fancy themselves as Modern-day Shakespeares, making most their productions as tragedies.
The Dark Stories Trilogy
- Adaptational Villainy: Iris, the version of Alethea in the original version of Advent, turns out to the be mastermind.
- Adaptational Wimp: Radd as the Lord of Dark doesn't have any time-space powers unlike Odio.
- Big Bad: Gauss Reinhart in Advent. He was promoted to Villain Protagonist in Live Side & Evil Side.
- Burn the Witch!: Sabrina is executed this way for helping Radd escape.
- Death by Adaptation: In Advent, Uranus is already deceased, with his granddaughter Sabrina taking his place in hunting the Lord of Dark.
- Expy: Ashley Dunkirk bears an uncanny resemblance to Baron Ashura.
- Foregone Conclusion: Those who have finished Live A Live will already know how Advent ends...
- Original Generation
- Not His Sled: Reincarnation is a original story about the now demon-tainted Lucrece going to war with an opposing country.
- Shout-Out: Radd Oersted and Caesar Streibough were named after characters from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light.
- White Mage: Sabrina, much like her grandfather Uranus' canon counterpart.
