Buffy the Vampire Slayer: In the second season episode "The Dark Age", Giles, uncharacteristically, ends up holed up in his apartment drinking when he finds out one of his former classmates is dead (in reality, possessed by the demon Eyghon). When Giles hears another old classmate, Ethan (an enemy of his), is in the library, he rushes over to confront him, but the other classmate attacks, and in the confusion, Ethan escapes. Giles refuses to tell Buffy what's going on, even though she snaps at him, "I care from you lost weekending in your apartment!"
Looney Tunes: In "Slick Hare", A caricature of Ray Milland pays for his drinks with a typewriter; the bartender gives him tiny typewriters as change, which Milland tells him to keep.
