  • Mad About You: The episode "The Alan Brady Show" is a crossover with this show, with Carl Reiner reprising his role as Alan Brady.
  • Svengoolie: The character of Boddy Sorrell, the talking skull on Sven's coffin, is based on Buddy.
  • The first episode of WandaVision is essentially an homage to the series, although Vision merely walks through the ottoman in the theme song. Later, it is revealed that Wanda and her family would watch this show to practice their English in Sokovia. They are specifically seen watching "It May Look Like a Walnut".

Western Animation

  • Family Guy:
    • In "Holy Crap", the Griffins watch a parody of the show's opening where Rob's fumble over the ottoman leads to a series of violent and horrific accidents (topped off by a car randomly plowing into the house), all while the cheery theme music plays on.
    • In "PTV", the FCC's extreme censorship campaign includes bleeping pieces of the show's title due to "Dick" being a slang term for a penis and "Dyke" being an homophobic slur.
    • In "And Then There Were Fewer", Brian and Stewie play a game of Name That Tune in which Brian hums this show's theme and Stewie gets it right away. But when Stewie hums the theme to Dynasty, Brian claims he's never heard of it.
    • In "Family Guy Through the Years", an image of this show appears behind Peter during his introduction.
  • The Simpsons:
    • In "$pringfield (or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)", Marge promises to help Lisa with her school project, and Homer muses "Aww, just like on TV" before tripping over an ottoman and triggering a Laugh Track.
    • The Couch Gag for "How the Test Was Won" has the Simpsons appearing as characters from various classic sitcoms. The 1960's are represented by this show, with Homer as Rob, Marge as Laura, Bart as Buddy, Lisa as Sally, and Maggie as Ritchie.
  • Tiny Toon Adventures: In "Here's Hamton", the prologue to "Drawn and Buttered" features a parody of the intro of The Dick Van Dyke Show, featuring Hamton in the role of Dick Van Dyke, Elmyra as "Elmyra Tyler Moore", Shirley the Loon as "Rowe Shirley", and Plucky Duck as "Plucky Ducksterdam".
    • Also, in "How I Spent My Vacation", at one point, Buster seemingly waxes romantic to Babs, only to prank her:
Buster: Y'know, Babsy, in this moonlight, you look just like... Morey Amsterdam!
      Babs: MOREY AMSTERDAM!??!?!
      (splash!)
