The day of the school duel has finally arrived. Chazz is armed with a new deck and ready for a rematch with Jaden, though that's not the only battle he'll be fighting.
- Bathroom Stall of Angst: Jaden passes by as Chazz is breaking down in the bathroom over the pressure his brothers are putting on him, causing him to have a lot more sympathy for his rival.
- Big Brother Bully: Chazz's brothers tear him a a new one for dropping out of Duel Academy, despite enrolling in North Academy and becoming the top student there.
- Here We Go Again!: Once again, someone gives Chazz a collection of rare, expensive cards to use against Jaden. Given his choice, it's safe to say Chazz hasn't forgotten how that worked out last time...
- Hesitation Equals Dishonesty: Chazz's brothers ask him if was trying to run away from them when he disappeared. Chazz can only softly stammer out, "I... uh..." before one shouts, "Don't deny it!", showing they firmly believe he was.
- Irony: For all his calling Jaden and the Slifer Red students "slackers", Chazz's brothers call HIM the slacker of the family.
- Our Dragons Are Different: Chazz's new deck is the Armed Dragon series allowing him to discard monster cards to destroy Jaden's monsters with equal or less attack points of the monster he discarded.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: The Princeton brothers give Chazz a briefcase's worth of rare cards to help him win.
- Significant Wardrobe Shift: From this episode onwards, Chazz switches out his Obelisk Blue uniform for a black shirt, pants, overcoat, and brown shoes.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Despite how Chazz has treated him in the past, Jaden feels sorry for him after seeing just how badly his brothers' treatment has affected him, thinking it's too bad one of them has to lose this duel. After secretly overhearing Chazz's breakdown, Jaden's visibly a lot less excited for their rematch.
