- Assassination Attempt: Cleopatra, by the usual myth of snake bite.
- Beauty Is Never Tarnished: After taking a brutal beating from Brutus, Gabrielle bears no injuries the next day.
- Dead Person Impersonation: Xena takes the place of the deceased Cleopatra to continue the negotiations she was in the middle of and find her killer.
- Duel of Seduction: Both Anthony and Xena have the intention of seducing the other in order to get what they want. In a twist, both of them end up falling in love with each other.
