A Film by Dale Squires

A former Hollywood Arts student, Dale Squires, is directing a short film and Tori and the gang are hired as part of the production, but when Dale takes all the credit for himself, the gang seeks revenge.

Tropes:

  • Diabolus ex Machina: After Beck spends all afternoon helping fix Robbie's car, he goes to find cheerleaders that Robbie can impress. However, while he's gone, 2 bank robbers steal the car, leaving Robbie a sobbing wreck when the cheerleaders finally arrive.
  • Hope Spot: Dale unexpectedly gives Tori and her friends the credit they deserve on a talk show, and all seems well. But then Andre’s cousin, who was asked by the gang to get revenge on him, goes onstage to humiliate Dale.
  • It's All About Me: Dale shows this in spades. However, he feels bad for it later.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Although Dale eventually realized his behavior and decided to give credit to the gang, it was already too late.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Andre’s cousin gets on stage and claims that Dale ditched her as her girlfriend. When he calls her a liar (which she was), she pretends to be offended and gives him a massive shaking and smack down, much to the amusement of the audience.
  • Non-Verbal Miscommunication: Upon hearing Dale Squires finally giving them credit for their roles in his film, Tori and her friends desperately signal for Andre’s cousin to abort their revenge scheme. But she interprets their hand gestures as their signal to go through with their plan.
  • Sassy Black Woman: Andre’s cousin. She tells the team not to remind her about the plan, and accuses Dale Squires of standing up to her.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Dale mostly sits around during production, either chatting on his phone, or sitting in the hot tub, hardly doing any direction, leaving Tori and the gang to do most of the work. The production is completed, no thanks to him, but he still doesn't give them their fair share of credit.
