The children’s singing duo Bananas and Cheese are coming to the daycare much to the delight of most of the class. Gwen and Noah are annoyed by the idea, but Duncan is absolutely horrified. He enlists their help to stop Bananas and Cheese from coming because, unbeknownst to everyone, the duo are actually his parents.

- Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Duncan definitely feels this way despite Bananas and Cheese being very popular with most of his classmates. He understandably finds their music grating.
- Book Dumb: Duncan doesn’t know the alphabet and thinks it’s called the “letterbet.” He also thinks dinosaurs are still alive.
- Child Prodigy: Noah is able to hack into the banana car’s GPS and the city’s traffic lights, and even put out a police alert.
- Nightmare Fetishist: Gwen. She’s even baffled by the thought of wanting to wake up from one.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: Gwen distracts Chef by getting herself stuck in a bucket twice.
- Oh, Crap!: Duncan when he learns Bananas and Cheese are coming and again at the end when everyone learns they’re his parents.
