Mumm-Ra captures all the ThunderCats except for Snarf, who must step up to rescue them.
Tropes:
- And I Must Scream: Mumm-Ra decides not to destroy the Thundercats, opting to keep them forever in a mummified state.
- Bat Signal: Exploited by the Mutants, who lure out and capture Cheetara with their own make-shift Cat-Signal.Jackalman: "Crude, but effective"
- Framing Device: The ThunderCats were captured before the episode's beginning and the viewers only see it via flashbacks when other characters tell Snarf how it happened.
- Near-Villain Victory: Snarf aside, the villains basically won.
- Priceless Paperweight: The Sword of Omens is reduced to a simple wall ornament in Mumm-Ra's pyramid.
- Underestimating Badassery: The Mutants don't expect Snarf to be able to help.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: When Snarf laments not having the skills of the other ThunderCats, a Berbil says he must have some skill of his own and Snarf remembers his ability to talk to animals.
- Villainous Friendship: The villains seem content with their victory and clearly don't plan to double cross each other. The Mutants celebrate with a feast, and plan to terrorize the populace together as an enjoyable activity. Mumm-Ra's former uneasy alliance with them has notably improved, appointing them as his lords and even referring to them as his "crude friends" while speaking to himself.
