Mumm-Ra summons a heroic samurai named Hachiman and tricks him into thinking the ThunderCats are evil.
Tropes:
- Affectionate Nickname: Hachiman calls Nayda "little sister", after mistakenly assume that Lion-O and Nayda are siblings.
- Bottomless Pit: The Four-Day Drop is a hole allegedly so deep it takes four days to hit bottom if you fall in.
- Fatal Flaw: Pride. Lion-O and Hachiman almost fall into a deep chasm because neither of them wanted to let the other be the first one to cross the bridge. Nayda calls them out on it after saving them from falling down.
- Heel Realization: Hachiman realizes Mumm-Ra duped him when his sword refuses to fight Lion-O.
- Hoist Hero over Head: The ninja lifts Nayda and threatens to hurl her off a ledge unless Hachiman surrenders. Nayda breaks his grip and jumps down herself, then Lion-O saves her.
- Instant Awesome, Just Add Ninja: Mumm-Ra summons a ninja, who, unlike a samurai, works in the shadows and has no honor.
- Save the Villain: Hachiman was about to chop Slithe to bits, but Lion-O stops him, saying he's better as a hostage.
- Take a Third Option: When Slithe is captured by the Warrior Maidens, they, Lion-O and Hachiman expect his allies to either launch an attack force to rescue him or negotiate his freedom. Having deduced so, Mumm-Ra sends a ninja disguised as a negotiator to break him out and tells the Mutants he's taking a third option because you never do what your enemies expect you to.
