While in Seattle, the gang investigates sightings of a steaming demon, supposedly escaped from the abandoned Old Seattle.
This episode includes examples of the following:
- Big Damn Heroes: The opening scene has a crane operator seeing a fellow construction worker menaced by the titular monster swing down the beam attached to his crane, allowing his coworker to grab it and then be yanked to safety.
- Big Red Devil: The Steaming Demon resembles one, with the addition of wings.
- Ghost Town: Old Seattle, which is buried underneath the new one.
- Ominous Fog: The demons in Seattle have it as their calling card.
- Punny Name: One of the characters here is a sailor named Albert Tross (albatross), a pseudonym for Sam Crenshaw.
- "Scooby-Doo" Hoax: The Steaming Demon is actually a man in disguise who's out to rob treasures from Old Seattle.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: According to legend, the Steaming Demon and its kin were originally sealed underground, and they're supposedly after a talisman that can send them back underground to keep from being reimprisoned.
