Chapter 27: Breaking of the Fellowship

The apprentices contemplate their futures and whether they should stay together or not.

Always a Bigger Fish: Braddock points out how Sasha whipped the toad army into shape, turned Grime into an effective leader and came up with several different scenarios for taking down Uodeela. This is why Emmanuel wants Gustav, Percy and Braddock to remain with Sasha and Grime to keep an eye on them; because Sasha's the bigger threat.
Breaking the Fellowship: Why else would it be the chapter title?
The Ghost: Anne and Uodeela.
Given Name Reveal: Lilly's father is said to be named Emmanuel.
Internal Reveal:
- The apprentices learn about Emmanuel creating the rebellion with Uodeela.
- Luz learns that Emmanuel was sent to confirm Anne was in Wartwood by Uodeela.
The Mole: Percy and Braddock's determined role to help the rebellion: keep tabs on Sasha and Grime. Emmanuel also requests that Gustav go with them to act as a messenger for him.
Put on a Bus: Due to the ending of the last chapter, Uodeela.
The Reveal: Percy and Braddock reveal that toads serve a certain amount of years and while some stay after they service ends, those who retire rejoin due to resentment from the towns they threatened.
Reverse Mole: This becomes Gustav's assigned role; he'll join Sasha and Grime alongside his father and Braddock and bring any intel they gather to the rebellion.
Significant Wardrobe Shift: Before Luz sets off for Wartwood to meet up with Anne, Lilly, Gustav and Amara give her a new outfit to wear, comprised of new boots, gloves, a cloak, and accessories over her uniform.
Sore Loser: Emmanuel points out that at this point, it's clear Sasha really hates losing.
Tragic Keepsake: To go with Luz's new outfit, her friends give her Uodeela's staff (the bottom of which was fashioned into a spear at Amara's suggestion) so she'll have something to remember her mentor by when she returns home.
Wham Episode: Uodeela's apprentices decide to go their seperate ways: Lilly asks her father if they can drop Luz off in Wartwood to find Anne before returning to the rebellion where she'll train, Gustav agrees to go spy on Grime and Sasha with Percy and Braddock and Amara decides to return to Newtopia to find a cure for Uodeela's curse.
