Recap / The Omnitrix Hero S 3 E 7 A Dazzling Dispute

Go To

As Adagio continues to feed off of Flash's fame, she and her sisters are offered a chance by Tirek to get their own fame by becoming models. This quickly goes to Adagio's head, and when another Equestrian Hybrid is on the loose, she needs to decide what's more important to her; being famous and adored or the friendships she has made since meeting Flash.

  • Anywhere but Their Lips: Flash surprises Adagio by kissing her on her forehead to show her he forgives her. Later, Adagio gives Flash a quick kiss on the cheek before she shoots the commercial with her sisters.
  • Armor-Piercing Response: Sonata gives one to Adagio when The Dazzlings are driving to their commercial shoot, when Adagio asks what was so bad about the old her due to everything she was able to do and why it would be so bad if she acted like that again.
Sonata: Cause none of that made you happy. Not really. You've actually been happy with Flash and all his friends, even if you didn't have any magic or fame.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Flash is normally one of the biggest Nice Guys around, but Adagio's bad diva attitude and turning him into her personal taxi slowly wears on his nerves. Once she calls him "the worst boyfriend ever" when he says how he needs to go after the hybrid to stop it from hurting others instead of driving her to her shoot, it is the last straw for him and he shouts back at her for her selfishness, actually frightening her.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Another one that's more sweet than bitter. Scales, the third Equestrian Hybrid, is captured and is slowly being trained to behave by Fluttershy, the same as Drift and Pearl, and Adagio has finally started to become a better person after realizing how important her relationship with Flash and friendships with his friends are to her. However, Tirek has also managed to successfully hack into the Plumbers' systems thanks to devices he planted and can now spy on them, intending to let them keep collecting his hybrids for him before he makes his move to take them back.
  • Break-Up/Make-Up Scenario: Adagio's haughty attitude slowly gets on Flash's nerves, to the point where the two argue over whether he should drive her and her sisters to their commercial shoot or go after the hybrid to protect people. It results in Flash telling Adagio she hasn't changed at all and throwing his keys at her so she can drive herself, with Adagio not being sure if that means they are broken up now. When she comes back and helps him catch the hybrid, sincerely apologizing to him for how she's acted, he forgives her and the two of them make up.
  • Description Cut: Adagio is unsure about Flash's assurance that the glass diamond she took from the set to help him is the only one, believing it to be really expensive and not easily replaced. The next scene has them arriving back to discover the director actually has five replacement gems ready.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Sonata, the ditz of the Dazzlings, is the one that points out to Adagio that she is much happier since she started dating Flash and hanging out with his friends, making her realize that being deceptive and cunning and trying to be adored by others never actually made her happy.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: Adagio realizes she has to choose between stealing a large glass diamond to help Flash against Scales and possibly cost her career or continue doing the shoot at leave Flash to the dragon's mercy. Though it ends up subverted since she ends up helping Flash, but the set had several replacements ready, and Flash silently assures her she can keep her career going since he'll make sure she doesn't become a brat again.
  • Heel–Face Turn: This chapter cement The Dazzlings having one, with them each only having a Hazy-Feel Turn up until now. Though Aria and Sonata didn't struggle with having one as much as Adagio did, Adagio still eventually realizes that being adored by everyone like she always wanted isn't as important as just having fun with Flash and his friends.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: It is noted by Azmuth how Scales' Tankedrag DNA is almost identical with his unknown DNA, this being an Equestrian dragon. Spike guesses that maybe dragons are the same in all universes.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Flash gives one to Adagio when he finally reaches his Rage Breaking Point with her and her selfishness, calling her out on her attitude and how she is putting her own career and fame over innocent lives.
Adagio: So you care about getting more attention for yourself then helping me get some attention?
Flash: I don't do this for the attention! I'd be doing the same thing if my secret identity wasn't known. I thought you had changed. I thought you'd realised there are more important things in life than everyone loving you. But it's clear the only person you care about is yourself. (he throws his car keys at her). If this shoot is so important then go there yourself.
  • Tastes Like Friendship: After Scales is captured, Fluttershy gives him some shards that Flash created as Diamondhead for him to eat, promising he'll get more if he behaves.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight:
    • Tirek doesn't react at all to Spike being a talking dog, with him seemingly not noticing when Spike speaks after he scratches him behind the ears. Though this may be justified since being a former Plumber probably means he has seen a lot of stranger things.
    • While Aria and Sonata are both amazed and impressed by Flash's fight with the dragon hybrid, especially when their clash creates an explosion of fireworks, Adagio is very unimpressed and orders Flash to hurry it up.
