Recap / The Nanny S 6 E 7 Moms The Word

Go To

Fran agonizes over whether or not she should tell Maxwell about her pregnancy. Meanwhile, Brighton and Yetta lose track of each other at the movies, both returning to the house stating they lost the other.

  • Big Eater: Discussed. Fran has to go to the hospital on account of pain, and talks to a doctor who asks what she has eaten that day. She lists about twenty foods.
  • Blatant Lies: Fran meets a mother of two at the park and asks if birth really is as horrible as it sounds. The woman assures her it's wonderful while refusing to look at her. When Fran demands she make eye contact and repeat it, she admits that it's really that horrible.
  • Missed Him by That Much: Brighton and Yetta spend the episode thinking they lost each other at the movie theater and keep trying to find one another as they go around asking everyone else for help. They finally locate each other in the living room.
  • Oh, Crap!: A magnificently overwrought version of this happens when Niles accidentally tells C.C. about Fran's pregnancy.
Niles: You don't see Fran's pregnancy as the final nail in your coffin?
C.C. (dramatic zoom in complete with soap opera organ chord as her eyes bug out): Nanny Fine is... pregnant?
    Niles: That wasn't your secret?
    C.C.: NO!
(Dramatic zoom in on Niles realizing he fucked up, complete with another soap opera organ chord)
  • Pregnancy Makes You Crazy: Fran starts to cry and accuses Max of loving her more than anything, then lampshades that it's how she's supposed to act.
  • Running Gag: People thinking Fran's worried because Maxwell's not the father.
Fran: What is it with me?!
  • Scatterbrained Senior: Yetta as usual. When she thinks she lost Brighton she begs C.C. not to tell Maxwell, recalling how she went through something similar in 1939.
Yetta: I lost my little girl, Sylvia. Never saw her again!
C.C.: ...she's in the living room.
    Yetta: She's BACK?! My baby!
  • Shout-Out: Niles claims to be auditioning for the role of Pippi Longstocking.
