Nora tries to lie her way around managing the band, but doing so may not only threaten her standing with them, but Janice's life.

- Brutal Honesty: Penny names this trope by verbatim as the reason she is as successful as she is today, and tells Nora that the real secret to success, rather than just "faking it til you make it", you have to be true to yourself.
- Cliffhanger Copout: Apparently Moog saved the band from last-episode's Literal Cliffhanger using a winch he installed on his car because the band frequently get themselves into scrapes like that.
- Liar Revealed: Nora is ultimately forced to reveal her deceptions to the band to save Janice, briefly souring their relationship.
- Missing Mom: Nora mentions that her and Hannah's mom was a "hot mess" who clearly wasn't around for them.
- Mixtape of Love: The episode opens with Animal offering Nora a bunch of romantic gifts starting with a mixtape. Since this is Animal we're talking about the tape is already shredded and unplayable when he hands it over.
- Mythology Gag: One of the gifts Animal offers Nora is the Baseball Diamond from The Great Muppet Caper.
- Plot Allergy: As literally as you can get even. Turns out Janice is deathly allergic to lies and fibbers, and while a simple lie here and there will only make her sneeze a little, packing on a huge pile of deceit and deception will send her into allergic shock and the only thing that will cure her is admitting the truth.
- Shout-Out: Dr. Teeth and Floyd play a game of Pong at the beginning of the episode.
- Sitting on the Roof: The band spends some time sitting on the roof of the Shack while trying to put together some song ideas.
