"Mudda! We love ya, Mudda!"
After a spat about ice cream "mysteriously'' being eaten in the middle of the night, Elder Kettle gives Cuphead and Mugman some money to go get some more. While deciding how to go about doing so, the brothers come across frog brothers, Ribby and Croaks, who have recently opened a nightclub paddle boat which promises free ice cream to their guests. However the frog brothers deny them entry due to lack of full funds, so the cup brothers decide to sneak in resulting in shenanigans ensuing.

Tropes

  • Aesop Amnesia: Ribby and Croaks are moved by the Cups forgiving each other and pledge to become better brothers... and five seconds later, they're back to punching each other. It's implied that they learn and forget that same lesson quite frequently.
  • Air-Vent Passageway: The cups attempt to sneak into the boat through the air vents. Ribby hears them and uses a firefly to heat up the airduct and draw them out.
  • All Part of the Show: Said verbatim by Croaks when things start going wrong to pacify the audience, even when it gets to the point that the ship is sinking.
  • Buy or Get Lost: When Cuphead and Mugman revealed they didn't have enough money to get into the Fly Trap, Ribby and Croaks responded by kicking them into the river, but still keep their five bucks.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: The Frog Brothers show they really love their late mother and even dedicate a show to her.
  • Feud Episode: Cuphead and Mugman argue after the former ate ice cream while sleepwalking in the middle of the night.
  • Get Out!: The latter part is yelled by Elder Kettle when the boys complain about the other getting an object they wanted.
  • Harmless Freezing: Cuphead and Mugman at one point get frozen solid, but are just fine when they get out.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: In trying to get the Cups, Ribby and Croaks end up punching holes in their ship that they eventually end up sinking the showboat and their business along with it.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Sherman (the bulldog butcher) is huge compared to his wife, Dorris.
  • Jerkass: When the Cup brothers state they don't have enough money for the cover charge, the Frogs ask how much do they have which the Cups show they have five dollars. The Frogs take it... and promptly punt them into the river.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The frogs could have simply denied Cuphead and Mugman entry since they didn't have enough money. By taking their five bucks and kicking them away, it sets up a conflict that would lead to sinking their showboat.
  • Lint Value: Elder Kettle gives the cups a five-dollar bill... and some pocket lint. The boys somehow attach almost as much value to the lint as they do the five dollars; they look at it forlornly as it sinks into the river.
  • No, You: At the beginning, Cuphead and Mugman accuse each other of eating ice cream, each one rebutting the other with a volley of "No, you's!"
  • Rule of Three: Ribby and Croaks fight and reassure the mayor three times each during the course of the episode.
  • Running Gag: Ribby commenting on something going wrong and Croaks thinking he's blaming him for it, resulting in the two fighting each other.
Croaks: You sayin' it's my fault!?
Ribby: So what if I am!?
    *DING DING*
  • Sleepwalking: Cuphead and Mugman each insist they ate the other's ice cream in their sleep while accusing the other of eating their ice cream while fully awake. Later, they confess to each other that they did indeed eat the ice cream while fully awake.

You sayin' it's my fault?!

"So what if I am!"
Cue Ribby and Croaks fighting each other for each time Croaks thinks that Ribby is blaming him.

How well does it match the trope?
