It's time for the final confrontation. Who's been hunting our heroes all throughout this campaign? What's Lucas really after? Why is Merle getting just completely boned in every fight? Answers to these questions and more linger just behind the play button. Taako has a plan. Magnus has a snack. Merle says his prayers.
Tropes
- Good Cop/Bad Cop: Magnus gets rough with Lucas to get some answers, and Merle steps in as the Good Cop. Oblivious, Taako hangs a loud lampshade on the tactic, so the players joke that they're doing "Good Cop, Bad Cop, Aloof Cop" or "Good Cop, Bad Cop, Guy That's There to Pay a Parking Ticket".
- Portmanteau Couple Name: The players joke about the potential for Slash Fic and fan art of Taako and Kravitz, and they coin the name "Taakitz".
- Extreme Omnivore: Magnus tries to dispose of the Philosopher's Stone by using the Glutton's Fork to transform it into food and then eating it. Even after Griffin reminds him that the fork works only on non-magical items, whereas the Philosopher's Stone is extremely magical, Magnus chooses to eat it anyway. The players speculate how many hit points he will lose when he passes it.
- Wham Episode: Kravitz reveals why he is hunting our heroes: they have all died and never gone to the astral plane. Taako has died 8 times, Magnus 32, and Merle 57 times. None of them remember any of their deaths.
