- Artistic License – Botany: It doesn't take a farmer to tell you that fresh corn still on its stalk doesn't pop into popcorn.
- Child Prodigy: Foster Fenwick is a scientific genius, creating a device that throws the Earth out of orbit.
- Insufferable Genius: Foster is basically Vernon if he was a pint-sized science-prodigy.
- Properly Paranoid: Donatello picks up that the Earth has been knocked off of its orbit towards the Sun before he even learns that it was because of Foster's solar magnet. He also recognizes just how dangerous it is and tries to destroy it, knowing that it could be devastating if used by the wrong element. Wouldn't know know it, Professor Filo Sopho steals it to scorch the Earth's surface, leaving him owner (by process of elimination) of the planet Earth.
- Skewed Priorities: When Donatello points out how monumentally crazy keeping on a device that pulls the Earth closer to the sun on would be, Foster promises to turn it off after he wins first prize at the science-fair.
