Go To

Irma becomes convinced that she has been imbued with superpowers and tries to become a crime-fighter.

Tropes

  • Acquired Situational Narcissism: Irma is quick to accuse the Turtles of being jealous that she has superpowers when they are rightfully concerned for her safety.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Professor Chumley scoffs at the idea that chemicals could give someone superpowers or turn people into mutants, even though mutants and superheroes are public knowledge in this setting. Though considering he knew what chemicals doused Irma, he would definitely know if they had any mutagenic properties.
  • False Cause: Irma's clumsiness causes her to get doused in harmless lab chemicals, which she thinks gave her superpowers. Instead, her clothes were temporarily magnetized.
  • For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself: Splinter advices that the Turtles go to the costume party in their regular gear. Wouldn't you know it, their "costumes" are a huge hit.
  • Mistaken for Superpowered: Irma gets zapped with a device some criminals were stealing, while she was on her way to a costume party. This causes her costume to become magnetized, resulting in it repelling the guns the criminals pointed at her. As a result, she mistakenly starts to believe that she has Super-Strength and spends the rest of the episode trying to be a superhero before the effect on her costume wears off as she is fighting Shredder, requiring the turtles to save her.
