  • Beauty Equals Goodness: The evil-looking fishmen appear to be the villains at first, but are actually law enforcement officers that are trying to capture Seraphina for stealing a priceless artifact.
  • Be Yourself: Rapunzel advises to Hook Foot to "just be yourself" when he is nervous about his date with Seraphina. It works, as they have a nice date and she really falls for him.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Deconstructed. Eugene admits that Rapunzel is right, that love sometimes has a way of happening on its own. While Rapunzel admits that Eugene is right, the love is something you need to work at somethimes.

  • Does Not Like Shoes: When sitting on a picnic mat giving him dating tips, Rapunzel advises Hook Foot, "The important thing is that you're comfortable." She emphasizes her prefered state of comfort with her bare feet, and moves them gently in a cozy posture. Hook Foot, being handicapped, can't do the same.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Hook Foot when he's explains his "non-date" dinner with Seraphina.
Hook Foot: No, it's not a date. We're just gettin' together to eat and, you know, uh, talk, and, uh....... Wait! I have a date!
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Seraphina gives herself up to the fishmen so they will leave Hook Foot and his friends alone.
  • Hostage for MacGuffin: As part of her Heroic Sacrifice, Seraphina threatens to destroy the stolen artifact if the fishmen don't agree to her terms.
  • Shout-Out: The title of this episode is one to There's Something About Mary.
