Susie confronts her tornado with Oscar, while Hedgehog and Mildred try to restart the island's magic.
- Absurdly Ineffective Barricade: Susie's idea of blocking the door is to (once again) put a couple of things against the door. Doubly ineffective since said door is the entrance to P. Shark's office, AKA made of water.
- All for Nothing: Hedgehog's map leads straight to the diamond on the mountain top, but before she can figure out how to restart it, Susie steers the tornado into it, shattering it.
- Bittersweet Ending: Susie finally reconciles with Mildred, stopping the tornado, but the entire island is left in shambles, and what's more, the diamond that used to hold all magic is broken.
- Cry Laughing: Susie laughs at Oscar's joke before tearing up at the hopelessness of her situation.
- Face Your Fears: With Oscar's help, Susie finally confronts the tornado. Inside it are her memories of her first fifteenth birthday. Susie realizes that blaming Mildred for their parents' disappearance and causing her to run away, not the 400 years of emotional baggage, is what caused the tornado, and once she apologizes to Mildred for what she did, the tornado dissipates.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Determined to apologize to her sister, Susie and Oscar steer the tornado to where Mildred is. And in turn, destroy the island's diamond.
- Shout-Out: To Notting Hill.Susie: I'm just a non-magical girl, standing in front of a non-magical boy, asking him to leave me alone.
- Your Other Left: Hedgehog says to bear right when they come to a fork on the road. Oscar, who paused to tie his shoe, loses track of Hedgehog and Mildred, and in trying to figure out which path to take, he thinks "bear right" is the same as "stage right" and heads left, leading him to P. Shark's office, where Susie is hiding.
