Sonic returns to the Boscage to collect its Shard before the Chaos Council, while Nine works to sabotage the Council from within whilst being their prisoner.

- Changed My Mind, Kid: The Boscage Gang initially refuse to help Sonic and Thorn battle the Chaos Council's machines, but show up to pull a Big Damn Heroes during the climactic battle.
- Foreshadowing: Just before Thorn leaves the Boscage village, Sonic notices his shoes are glowing, which clues him (and the audience) in to where exactly she hid the Shard (albeit not the exact method).
- Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Sonic expresses confusion and horror at Dr. Don't using his Egg-forcers to cut down the Boscage Maze, unable to understand why he'd resort to such extreme measures.
- Mid-Season Upgrade: Nine upgrades Sonic's regulators to allow him to touch the Shards without teleporting, as well as enabling direct communication between the two of them.
- The Mole: While captured and enslaved by the Chaos Council, Nine manages to work his predicament to his advantage by secretly establishing contact with Sonic to keep him up to date on the Council's every move. He's also developing a plan to steal back the Shards the Chaos Council have already taken.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: The episode ends with Shadow spin-dashing Sonic through the portal to No Place, where the Blue Blur once again makes a water-landing. Sonic, being Sonic, yells the second half of this trope's name as he plummets into the drink.
- Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: Dr. Don't's intended Pre-Mortem One-Liner to Thorn, while attempting to buzzsaw her with an Eggforcer.Dr. Don't: Time! For you! To split!
- Rock Beats Laser: The Chaos Council are way ahead of Boscage Maze technologically, but Thorn and the Scavengers—whose weapons pack enough punch to one-shot an Eggforcer—are able to hold their own against the invaders once they band together.
- Stomach of Holding: Thorn hides the Shard inside Birdie's stomach. She regurgitates it for Sonic to flee with, to his (and Dr. Don't's) disgust.Sonic: Good thing I'm always wearing gloves!
- This Is Gonna Suck: Dr. Don't (via an Eggforcer) upon seeing the heroes press Dr. Babble's Berserk Button.Dr. Don't: #Uh-oh.
- Villainous Breakdown: After Sonic seemingly escapes with the Boscage Shard, and Dr. Babble's mech gets damaged by Thorn, he spits out his dummy and launches a full-blown temper tantrum, smashing and throwing everything in sight, including Dr. Don't's Eggforcers. Unfortunately, this actually works out in the Chaos Council's favour: Sonic doubles back when he realizes the Chaos Council aren't following him, giving Dr. Babble the opportunity to steal the Shard back.
