In an alternate dimension where Knuckles is the smart leader of Team Sonic, a freak accident causes him to end up in the normal dimension. Though confused at first, Team Sonic soon begin to like him better than the original. But when they find out that two Knuckles in the same dimension will cause both to explode, they decide to help the alternate Knuckles get back home.

- Cringe Comedy: When Tails first tries to send alternate Knuckles back using the lasers, he realizes he didn't change the batteries. This leads to an awkward moment that alternate Knuckles compares to saying goodbye to someone then walking in the same direction as them.
- Era-Specific Personality: The change of looks and personalities given to the characters in the alternate dimension are as follows:
- Knuckles is the leader of Team Sonic and is a lot more smarter.
- Sonic is a clumsy wimp who idolizes Knuckles.
- Tails looks like he's staring off into space; he might not be very bright.
- Amy is a lot more aggressive.
- Dave the Intern is one of the good guys and is a genius.
- Dr. Eggman wears green.
- On a side note, Sticks' personality remains the same.
- Eye Am Watching You: After freeing the alternate Knuckles, Sonic asks Eggman if they can borrow his lasers so Tails can send him back to his dimension, which he happily allows them to do, stating they should have just asked him in the first place. He later says he needs them back by Thursday for a party, desperately trying to hide his plans to attack Team Sonic again. Sticks, who is unconvinced, silently then goes through these motions.
- Kill It with Fire: Sticks' reaction to the alternate Knuckles' sudden appearance in the normal dimension.
- Percussive Maintenance: The two Knuckles begin to flicker as a result of being in the same dimension, which will eventually cause an anomaly that will implode both dimensions. Team Sonic learns this firsthand when a sick main-dimension Knuckles starts flickering, and Sticks, pissed off by this, slaps him on the head the way one would smack the top of an old TV set - and surprisingly, it works.
- Time for Plan B: Sonic, Amy, and Sticks land on Eggman's base to retrieve the captured alternate Knuckles so that Tails can send him back to his original dimension, as the two Knuckles must be together in order for the machine he built to work. The blue hedgehog slowly marches up to the lair door with heroic resolve and dramatic music playing in the background... which abruptly stops when he simply knocks on the door. It's only after Eggman tells them he's busy that Sonic busts in, considering that option "plan B".
