- Abuse Mistake: When the Reds show up at Blue base looking for Donut, Caboose explains he is taking care of him for awhile until he tells him a few things. Sarge mistakes this as Caboose holding Donut prisoner and torturing him for information.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Invoked by Grif. While egging Sarge on, after "negotiations" with Caboose to get Donut back fail, Grif asks Sarge if they should call in a nuke strike. Though Sarge turns this suggestion down since Donut is still inside.
- Nuke 'em: Played for Laughs when Grif asks if they call in a nuke strike on Blue Base after "negotiations have broken down". Though Sarge declines the suggestion due to Donut still being in there, it is pretty obvious command would have never authorized such a tactic even if Grif was being serious.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Eventually, Simmons gets so annoyed by Sarge and Caboose's Sustained Misunderstanding that he decides to go nap.
- Sustained Misunderstanding: Sarge thinks Caboose is holding Donut hostage, while Caboose thinks the Reds are offering him cookies.
- Swapped Roles: Normally in Red Team Grif is the Lazy Bum and Simmons is the Professional Butt-Kisser. When Red Team confronts Caboose though, they end up swapping this, though it is because Grif decides to egg Sarge on when he is accusing Caboose of kidnapping and torturing Donut for his own amusement, and Simmons gets so fed up with the Sustained Misunderstanding he leaves to go take a nap. Even Donut is surprised by this change in attitude when Caboose explains it to him.Donut: Who was it?
Caboose: Uh, it was Red Sergeant and Grif. They were working together while Simmons was laying under a tree, being lazy.
Donut: What the...? How long was I asleep this time?? - Troll: Grif decides to egg Sarge on for his own amusement.
