Even in the driest conditions of Earth 66 million years ago, dinosaurs still find ways to live and thrive.

The Isisaurus sequences provide examples of:

  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: Both Isisaurus and Rajasaurus have red and black coloration that fits perfectly an animals that live near to volcanic zones.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: One of the hatchling Isisaurus falls into a volcanic mud trap.
  • The Determinator: Both mothers and baby Isisaurus are this — the former traveling long distances through perilous landscapes to nest, the latter doing the same to escape said perilous landscapes and find their way to their herds.
  • Eats Babies: The Rajasaurus feasts on the Isisaurus nestlings.
  • Fantastic Fauna Counterpart: Isisaurus bury their eggs in volcanic soil to incubate them like Galapagos land iguanas and some megapodes.
  • Parental Abandonment: Zigzagged - on the one hand, the female Isisaurus don't guard their nests, and the hatchlings have to find their way out of the volcanic crater by themselves. On the other hand, the females left behind enough dung to provide food for their hatchlings.

The canyon sequence provides examples of:

  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: We never see the Tarbosaurus bringing down the Nemegtosaurus, only the start and the outcome of the hunt. It's also never made clear whether they killed it directly, or, like the dromaeosaurs in Ice Worlds, simply provoked them into stampeding so they could feed on the casualties.

The Corythoraptor and Kuru sequence provides examples of:

  • Monster Is a Mommy: The Kuru first appears to be an Evil Egg Eater raiding the nests of the Corythoraptor. However, it's soon revealed that she's also a parent, taking one of the stolen eggs to feed her nestlings.

The Tarchia sequence provides examples of:

  • Bullying a Dragon: The Prenocephale try to scare off the Tarchia from the watering hole, aggressively nibbing at him. In response, the ankylosaur clubs the sand with his tail to show off his strength, reminding the small pachycephalosaurs who's the stronger dinosaur.
