A stranger moseys into Jungle Karma, claiming to be a health inspector. However, RJ recognizes him as an old Pai Zhua student name Dominic. After seeing the team in action, Dominic starts trying to integrate himself into the group, seeing Rangering as a new purpose to ground him. Unfortunately, annoyed by his practical joke and not seeing him taking their problems seriously, Dominic will have to work hard to prove himself in the process.
However, he might get a proper opportunity when Grizzaka sends a crocodile monster to attack Ocean Bluff. And the team might have a new powerful teammate by the end of the fight.

- Brilliant, but Lazy: According to RJ, Dominic was almost made a protector by Master Mao, but that curious streak kept distracting him from his duties. He was sent out into the world to find his purpose, and it's taken him quite a while to figure it out.
- By Wall That Is Holey: A sign falls toward Fran and Dominic. Dom saves both of them by cutting a hole in it with his morpher.
- Commonality Connection: Dominic and Fran hit it off because they both love to read books. Fran also relates to Dominic dreading having a lack of purpose, saying she was lost before she was welcomed at the shop.
- Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Dominic's backstory; Walking the Earth until he visits RJ, sees the Rangers in action, and decides I want to do that!
- Foil: Casey's clash with Dominic. Whereas Casey aggressively works hard and takes being a Ranger seriously, Dominic is fun-loving and willing to bend the rules and established training techniques.

Casey: Well, I'm cleaning the toilets, so... - Mirror Character: It takes a while for Casey to realize that Dominic is every bit as heroic and well-meaning as he is, despite his own unique quirks and attitude.
- Oh, Crap!: Dominic's reaction to RJ and the others being actual Power Rangers.
- The Prankster: Dominic pretends to be a health inspector and puts a scare into the others. It's his way of letting RJ know he's dropped by. This comes back to bite him, as Casey keeps riding him and later thinks he deliberately replaced the customers' regular pepper with chili pepper.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Fran chastises the team (especially Casey) for not giving Dominic a fair chance. She also chides Dominic for leaving without saying goodbye, though she's easier on him since he's depressed.
