Tropes

  • Cassandra Truth: When Cassidy/Devin wonder why Principal Randall is giving Carson Brady a pen, Devin suggests that Randall is probably a she-villain in disguise, going undercover. Cassidy just thinks he watches too much TV.
  • Continuity Nod: This isn't the first time Tommy's been put in a book.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Fridgia was supposed to be this for the Rangers. And she nearly succeeded too.
  • Medium Blending: The Dino Thunder Rangers were Rotoscoped to represent being trapped in a comic book.
  • Near-Villain Victory: This episode marks the closest where the Rangers have ever come close to getting completely wiped out. Elsa's only mistake here was not adding Trent to the story too, guaranteeing a complete victory.
  • Sarcasm Mode: At the beginning of the episode when Principal Randall is unable to send Conner, Ethan and Trent to detention due to having a permit to play in the Soccer field, the latter sarcastically waves goodbye at her telling her to have a nice day.
  • Smelly Feet Gag: When Principal Randall asks for his permit, Conner picks it from his shoe and after reading it, she suggested him to use a good body disinfectant.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Played with. The comic story is written for Fridgia to be completely invincible against the Rangers. As she is completely immune to all of their weapons and abilities. The comic was originally meant to end with Fridgia completely killing the four main rangers in gruesome fashion. However, the story was written to not include Trent. And once he inserts himself in, Fridgia immediately becomes vulnerable, as all Five Rangers turn the tide and escape the story. And once Fridgia escapes her world with them, she's easy pickings for Conner and his Battlizer.
