Izzy faces complications when Fern gains entrance to an important athletics school, while still being unaware her girlfriend is a Ranger.
Tropes:
- Cannot Spit It Out: Apparently the whole time they've been dating, Fern has never actually managed to say "I love you" to Izzy.
- Could Say It, But...: Neither Izzy nor Fern outright states that Izzy is the Green Ranger; both instead say that if it were true, it would be a secret that no one could be told about.
- Deducing the Secret Identity: Fern discovers Izzy is the Green Ranger because she confided to Green Ranger that she was in love with Izzy, and then Izzy mentions what had been said later when she shouldn't have known.
- Double-Meaning Title: The "Things Unspoken" refers to either Izzy unable to explain that she's a Power Ranger or Fern unable to say how much she loves Izzy.
- The "I Love You" Stigma: Fern confesses this to the Green Dino Fury Ranger — unaware that it's Izzy — that she hasn't been able to say these three words to her. She then makes the connection near the end of the episode.
- Internal Reveal: Fern realizes that Izzy is the Green Dino Fury ranger when she recalls how she confessed to the latter how she loves the former.
- Keeping Secrets Sucks: Zayto's secret identity rule once again plays havoc with a Ranger's personal life, since Fern and Warden Garcia just see Izzy turning down the thing she supposedly wanted most and she's unable to say why, nearly causing Fern to break up with Izzy permanently. Thankfully, Fern is able to piece it together and vows to keep mum about it.
- Mythology Gag: Fern Unknowingly quotes Zordon himself when she bids Izzy farewell with a "may the power protect you".
- Put on a Bus: Literally. Fern leaves to go to college and is last seen on a bus saying goodbye to Izzy.
- Secret-Keeper: Once Fern realizes that Izzy is the Green Dino Fury ranger, she promises to keep this secret.
- Something Only They Would Say: Izzy tells Fern that she "loves her too", which makes Fern confused at the "Too", since the only person Fern ever confessed about her love for Izzy was the Green Dino Fury ranger. She then puts two and two together.
- Shoo Out the Clowns: Downplayed as Fern is not comic relief, but her relationship with Izzy was a breather from the more serious situations in regarding Rafkon and Amelia's hope to find her parents again. After she leaves, things take a darker tone.
- Super-Speed: This week's Sporix beast has it, and uses it to dodge every attack the Rangers throw at it.
