Postman Pat and the Thunderstorm is the 5th episode of Series 4 of Postman Pat.
A thunderstorm hits Greendale, which causes a frightened Bonnie to escape and disappear.
Tropes:
- Big Storm Episode: The conflict concerns a thunderstorm, as the episode's title implies.
- Fear of Thunder: Both Bonnie and Julian are afraid of thunder; Bonnie's fear is what kickstarts the conflict, while Julian learns to face his fear.
- Foreshadowing: When they first set out, Pat mentions to Julian that he shouldn't stand under a tree during a thunderstorm, as the tree could get struck by lightning. Later on, a tree does indeed get struck by lightning and takes a telephone pole out with it, causing the Clifton household to lose power.
- Gender-Separated Ensemble Episode: Not counting the pets, Pat and Julian (male) set out to find Bonnie, while Sara, Meera, and Mrs Goggins (female) mind the homestead.
