When May is abducted by a Skarmory, she ends up being taken to preserve where Grass-type Pokemon live. While there, she befriends a Bulbasaur that takes a liking to her.
This episode contains the following tropes:
- Hidden Elf Village: The grass preserve, which isn't as hidden as it is well-protected.
- I Owe You My Life: Bulbasaur wound up the only Pokémon in the preserve who isn't hostile to May, since she saved Bulbasaur's life.
- Not Helping Your Case: The grass-type Pokémon's hostility toward May only gets worse when she brings out Torchic to defend her. This was later brought up by the ruler of the grass preserve, Venusaur.
- Shout-Out: Ash swings to May's rescue a'la Tarzan, and then strikes a pose not unlike that of a Kamen Rider.
- To Serve Man: The Skarmory that abducted May (or Skitty) certainly doesn't look like it was in the mood to make friends. It is weird however, that we won't be hearing from this Skarmory again...
