Flash and his friends finally return to Canterlot City, preparing for the start of the Equestria League. They encounter many familiar faces from both friends and rivals, and reflect on their journey together and pondering what they will do when it all ends.
- End-of-Series Awareness: This chapter is the beginning of the final arc of the series. A lot of characters reminisce over their past adventures together, and think of what they might do once the League is over, with some saying they haven't considered what they will do until now.
- Hypocrite: Lightning Blitz tells Timber when he is bragging about how easy the League will be that over-confidence like that can lead to underestimating your opponent. Flash points out though how Lightning always acts the same, but Lightning says it is different in his case since there is a difference between over-exaggerating yourself and telling the truth, and continues to tell everyone how he is going to be the winner and they are losers who aren't real trainers and don't deserve to be there. That being said though, that doesn't make his warning about over-confidence wrong.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Flash acknowledges that Lightning, despite being a jerk, was right about being overconfident is just begging to get beaten, and so tries to plan ahead and strategize as much as he can.
- Off Screen Moment Of Awesome: This is how Timber Spruce describes getting his badges, claiming he won all of his badges on his first try and got some of them without losing a single Pokémon.
- Ship Tease: Flash and Twilight go for a walk together the night before the League starts, with both of them telling each other how much they have grown thanks to each other. It can essentially be considered a date together, especially when they both start blushing together.
- Suspiciously Apropos Music: When Flash and Twilight are having their nighttime stroll together and discussing how they have both managed to help each other and how they changed and improved because of each other, they hear a song on a nearby radio. This song is "Of the Same Pride" from The Lion Guard, and as the two listen to it they get the feeling that whoever played it had done so especially for the pair to listen to.
- Tempting Fate: Timber Spruce brags how he is going to steamroll through the whole League and make it look easy, while ignoring Lightning's warnings about over-confidence like that is just him begging to lose before the tournament starts.
- Took a Level in Badass: While Flash is training his Pokémon at the start of the chapter, Astro successfully upgrades his Dragon Rage into a Dragon Pulse.
- Tournament Arc: This is the beginning of the Equestria League.
