Andy and Jerry have the flu, and Leslie thinks she might be coming down with it as well. As they prepare for the Unity Concert, Andy has booked Chipp McCapp. Unfortunately, Chipp backs out, and Leslie and Andy visit him to change his mind. On the way, Leslie stops at the store for flu medicine, but the pharmacist tells her she doesn't have the usual flu symptoms. Leslie sees a pregnancy test and buys one. When she takes it, she tests positive. At Chipp's place, he acts like a jerk to his employees (including his own father) and insults Pawnee. Leslie and Ben leave, and Andy accidentally learns about Leslie's pregnancy. She swears him to secrecy. They decide to try to reunite Land Ho for one performance by visiting the lead singer Scott Tanner, but he refuses until his son recognizes Andy as Johnny Karate.

Tom is trying to find a sommelier for his restaurant, so he takes his friends to a local vineyard where sommeliers are trying to get certified. Tom is trying to convince Xander Trufant to work for him, but he can't put up the kind of money that other restaurant owners can. At the vineyard, April and Craig sign up to be certified, but April is just playing around with the judges, with Donna as her audience. Craig, however, takes it seriously and wants to be hired by Tom. Back at the office, Tom and his friends give Craig a trial as sommelier, giving him difficult wine orders. He does well, and Tom hires him.

At the vineyard, Ron and Ben drink blueberry wine and Ben complains to Ron about his family problems. While they are walking home, with Ben extremely drunk, Leslie calls him to tell him about her pregnancy, but he drops his phone in a puddle. On the way home, he attempts to work through his anger with Ron and Ron Dunn, but is unsuccessful. However, he has an epiphany by the time he gets home, and informs Leslie he is ready to start their family, and she has news for him.

Tropes:

  • Broken Pedestal: Chip McCapp turns out to be a complete dick who abuses his staff (including his father who is his manager), much to Andy and Leslie's disappointment.
  • Divorce Assets Conflict: Ben's parents fought over everything, and their latest endeavor is selling a vacation house because neither of them wanted the other to have it for Columbus Day weekend. Apparently they once got a dog and dropped it off at a random synagogue because they couldn't share.
  • Gargle Blaster: Ron drops his contempt for the blueberry wine when he sees how much alcohol there is in it, and Ben gets completely soused.
  • New-Age Retro Hippie: Ron Dunn hangs out in the woods and encourages Ben to find his spirit animal to tame his anger. He can also summon birds when he wants to.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Chip McCapp is a parody of country singer Hunter Hayes with a little bit of Justin Bieber thrown in.
  • Recycled Title: This episode shares its name with an episode from the third season.
    • Serves as a Bait-and-Switch title, since nobody actually comes down with the flu (except Jerry). Leslie does come down with something, but it's entirely different...
  • Sommelier Speak: Tom takes most of the department to a sommelier competition so he can recruit the winner for his new restaurant. Craig joins the competition after revealing that he has a passion for wine tasting and April joins to Troll the judges.
  • They're Called "Personal Issues" for a Reason: Invoked. Ron has zero interest in Ben's personal life and repeatedly tries to make him stop talking by giving him alcohol. This backfires because it just makes Ben chattier, and Ron winds up having to bring him home when he gets too drunk to get back himself.
  • Wham Episode: Leslie's getting a dog! No, wait...
