With Clay indisposed, the new leader of the Knights steps up, as Monstrox and Jestro launch an attack on Knighton with the intent of getting rid of Merlok once and for all.
Tropes:
- The Bus Came Back: Dennis reappears to help save Lance from some Grimrocs, so do the other Merry Mechs.
- Darkest Hour: Clay's still stone, with no apparent way of de-petrifying him, and the episode ends with Monstrox and Jestro one step closer to unleashing the Colossus, with the end goal of wiping out Knighton.
- Evil Sounds Deep: Monstrox's voice gets slightly deeper with the power boost from the Forbidden Power. It goes back to normal when Aaron beats him at the end of the episode.
- Kick the Dog: On his way to the capital, Monstrox uses his power to torch an unrelated village for seemingly no reason other than fun.
- Kill It with Fire: The power of Blazing Burn gets transferred over to Monstrox, allowing him to set things on fire and zap them with lightning.
- Near-Villain Victory: Monstrox comes incredibly close to destroying Merlok for good, and though Aaron manages to bust him back to book form, the Knights still aren't any better off.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Arnoldi spends the battle chiselling a work depicting the Colossus laying waste to Knighton, which he drops. Robin finds it at the end of the episode, potentially cluing the Knights in to what Jestro and Monstrox are after.
- The Reveal: The mysterious someone Clay and Merlok have been talking to is Aaron.
- Stating the Simple Solution: Arnoldi suggests he could just chisel the Colossus out of the mountain, but Monstrox shoots this down because he doesn't have faith in Arnoldi's ability to succeed.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Macy is a little upset to be passed over for leadership of the Knights, but Merlok points out there's a good reason; as the only heir to the throne, they can't risk her life like that.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Despite the big focus on her in the previous episode, Ruina's neither seen nor mentioned here.
