Trapped in a tower, Cynthia calls for help and Lance quickly scales the tower she is in. Despite almost getting knocked off when he reaches her balcony just as she screams for help again, they both receive praise from the Knight of Red for doing things they were supposed to (Lance for scaling the tower, Cynthia for properly screaming for help). Jimmy and Cat are both unamused, and when their turn comes around Jimmy opts to use the tower's service elevator while Cat begins working on a Bedsheet Ladder to escape, rather than just wait for rescue. The class is interrupted by Bad Jack, who kidnaps Cat.
As Henri and Jimmy ride out on Torpedo, Jimmy claims that it was his clever idea that led to Cat's kidnapping, despite Henri's attempts to cheer him up. Meanwhile, Bad Jack has placed Cat in his tower in the Darklands, having needed a princess to act as bait to draw a knight he can fight. While initially conversational, he quickly grows annoyed with Cat poking holes in how he's doing things and threatens her into silence.
Jimmy and Henri's attempt at stealth fails thanks to a poorly-timed call from Cat, so Henri attempts a frontal assault while Jimmy tries to scale the tower. Both attempts fail, and Bad Jack decides to dump Henri into the nearby bottomless pit. Realization that his dad is in danger and a pep-talk from Cat bring Jimmy out of his funk, and he quickly comes up with a plan that gets Cat out of the tower, his dad out of danger, and Bad Jack himself knocked into his own bottomless pit.
Back at the castle, Jimmy asks if he'd be allowed to try a new way of sprinting, causing the Knight of Red to sigh in frustration.
- Affably Evil: Bad Jack is quite happy to chat with Cat while waiting for knights to rescue her. At least until he begins to suspect a trick and threatens her to be quiet.
- Bedsheet Ladder: Cat tried to use one during the training early in the episode. At the end of the episode, it is used by Jimmy and Cat to defeat Bad Jack.
- Bottomless Pit: Bad Jack has one, that has a closable cover near his tower where he dumps the knights he defeats. He gets dropped in it at the end of the episode.
- The Cavalry Arrives Late: The other knights ride out to rescue Cat at the same time as Henri and Jimmy, but arrive as Jimmy, Henri and Cat are making their escape and quickly flee with them when they realize a very angry Bad Jack is about to break free.
- To be fair, Henri mentions that the other knights were going by a different route in the hopes of taking Bad Jack off-guard (i.e. a pincer maneuver), but were unfortunately delayed by a collapsed bridge.
- Dragons Prefer Princesses: Cat asks Bad Jack why dragons capture princesses and he tells her that it is just to use them as bait to lure knights. Cat then asked him why not just capture a knight when he went to the castle earlier, Jack tells her to be quiet.
- Girl in the Tower: The episode begins with the kids training to rescue princesses in a tower. While Lance completed the exercise in an orthodox way, Cat and Jimmy wanted to change thing up. The rest of the episode is Jimmy and Henri trying to save Cat in Bad Jack's tower.
- It's All My Fault: Jimmy thinks that because he was trying to be clever, he caused Cat to be kidnapped (or at least, it caused him to not be there when she needed him).
- No Kill like Overkill: Cat thinks that Bad Jack chaining her up after placing her in the tallest tower in the Darklands is a bit much. Bad Jack considers it more Crazy-Prepared than anything else.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Cat calling Jimmy's smart mirror while he and Henri were trying to quietly scale Bad Jack's tower causes them to abandon their attempt and try a straight up frontal assault.
- Lance has this reaction following Cat's kidnapping, claiming that it was Jimmy's attempt to be 'fresh' that caused Bad Jack to nab her. Knowing him, he's probably just being a jerk.
- Save the Princess: Jimmy and Henri try to save Princess Cat from Bad Jack.
- 10-Minute Retirement: Jimmy quits trying to be 'fresh', feeling that his attempt to rescue Cat using something other than traditional methods was the reason she got caught by Bad Jack. He snaps out of it after Cat calls him out on it, and Henri is in grave danger.
- They Don't Make Them Like They Used To: After easily thrashing Henri, Bad Jack observes that "They don't make knights like they used to."
- Wangst: Cat thinks Jimmy's It's All My Fault attitude following her kidnapping is this. She calls him out on it, and it helps snap Jimmy out of his funk.
