Dressed to Kill is the fourth episode of the twenty-second series of Midsomer Murders and first aired January 02, 2023.

Residents of Elverton-Cum-Latterly are set to battle in a dominoes competition that dates back decades, but this year the event occurs the same night as a drag queen fundraiser for a terminally ill teenager. A Parish laundry owner and busybody Lois Springfield is found dead murdered with a sparkly high heel and a corset suggesting one of the drag artists but the reason is more complex.

Tropes:

  • Drag Queen: The troupe includes four drag artists with a range of gender identities and drag styles.
  • Killer Outfit: Lois Springfield, the first Victim of the Week, is murdered by being dressed in a corset that is then tightened to the point where she cannot breathe.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Jamie Winter continues to be eye-candy in universe. In this episode Evelyn tells him his buttocks are like coconuts. Later Fleur asks him to perform in drag with her Winter agrees and wiggles his butt which both Fleur and the camera take in.
  • Münchausen's by Proxy: Gill Templeton is deliberately aggravating her son's Rocco's anemia and telling him that he has leukemia, so that she scam the village into paying for him to travel to Florida for treatment; planning to take the money and Rocco and disappear.
  • Shoe Slap: Lois Springfield, the first Victim of the Week, is rendered insensible by a blow from a pink sequined size 9 stiletto before being constricted to death by a corset.
  • Stepford Smiler: Olivia Dent, forced to compromise hither and yon.
