Toki returns to Norway to make amends with his cancer-stricken father.

  • Artistic License – Medicine: After Toki finally works up the courage to meet his father, the rest of the band won't go in, believing cancer is contagious.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Dr. Galkinsmelter believes that the eventual death of Reverend Wartooth will unleash Toki's pent up rage.
  • Call-Back: Murderface brings up how his parents died in a Murder-Suicide.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Toki's childhood involves being regularly abused by his parents, worked like a slave, whipped across the back, leaving scars, and chained to the wall.
  • Disappeared Dad: Skwisgaar laments he never knew who his biological father was.
  • Exposed to the Elements: The band is freezing cold while standing outside the Wartooth house for three hours without any winter gear. Toki is the only one immune to it due to having grown up in harsh conditions.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: When Toki receives a phone call informing him of his father's cancer, the call is in Norwegian.
  • Last Request: Reverend Wartooth's final request is to see his childhood home before he dies.
  • No Infantile Amnesia: Pickles actually lampshades that Murderface shouldn't logically be able to remember his parents' murder-suicide although he argues in response that from that day forward he was a baby with a man's heart.
  • Running Gag: All throughout the episode, Nathan, Pickles and Skwisgaar mess with Murderface by throwing firecrackers at him. Murderface gets to finally throw one at the end, which triggers an avalanche that destroys the old Wartooth home.
  • Stunned Silence: Just like the last time his parents were involved, Toki is a catatonic wreck after getting the news of his father's cancer.
  • The Topic of Cancer: Toki's father, Reverend Aslag Wartooth, is dying of cancer.
