When an inverse colored panda at the zoo fails ill, Lan and Dex travel to Choina to seek a legendary medicine maker for help, who turns out to be none other than Jasmine's grandfather.
- I Ate WHAT?!: The episode ends with Dex serving Lan curry he made using mushrooms and spices from Jasmine's temple. One bite results in Lan's face changing colors and breathing fire. Dex even admits it tastes horrible as it was meant for health, not flavor.
- Karma Houdini: The third disciple is merely chased off the premises and gets hit by the booby traps on his way out, but otherwise leaves unscathed.
- Mama Bear: Literally, the panda parent does not take kindly to the third disciple taking its cub and Dex hostage to navigate the booby traps.
- My Greatest Failure: Cardamom considers taking on his third disciple a mistake since the guy merely wants his medicine recipes to get rich.
- Mythology Gag: The heel navis Mega Man, Guts Man and Meddy fight have their designs from Battle Networks 3, 4, and 5.
- Sham Supernatural: All of the magic Cardamom displayed in front of Lan and Dex was fake. Telling them he's speaking directly into their minds was really a loud speaker. Opening doors and activating machines by striking kung fu poses was form a remote hidden in his hand and retrieving Lan's PET by levitation was from a string.
- Zerg Rush: The third disciple tries hacking Cardamom's computer using a virus army and three heel navis for good measure.
