Recap / Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 10 Lost City Of The Muntabs

Go To

Jackie and Jade are accompanied by a rich jerk and his butler when they discover a not-so-lost civilization.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Didn't Think This Through: Jackie throws Smith's map into a fire allowing the Muntabs to remain in secrecy forever. However, Jade points out that without it, they won't be able to find their way home.
  • Fountain of Youth: The Muntabs drink from a chalice allowing them to remain young for at least 200 years.
  • Funbag Airbag: Jackie runs face-first into the female Muntab warrior whose chest is on his head's level. She's wearing armor there, though, so he bounces off painfully, and neither of them address it.
  • Improvised Weapon: Jackie flashes a camera to fend off a panther.
  • Kid Has a Point: The Muntabs mistake Jackie for stealing the chalice and ask for it back, but as Jade points out, Jackie can't possibly be the thief given that, not only has he been dancing in front of them the whole time, he also survived the trial proving himself pure of heart. The Muntab chief agrees to Jade's logic and says she is wise beyond her years.
  • Noble Top Enforcer: Smith's butler is reluctant to cut the helicopter's rope ladder Jackie is on because he doesn't believe Jackie can do any harm.
  • Only the Pure of Heart: The Muntabs force Jackie to survive the trials of a cave that only those who are pure can survive. Jackie is the first person ever to pass the test.
  • Rhino Rampage: Jackie's first obstacle in the Cave of Truth is a white rhino.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: Smith attempts to offer money to the chief in exchange for the secret to eternal youth. He fails to realize that the Muntab society is completely shut out from the world, and therefore money is useless to them.
  • Running Gag: Jade pointing out how useful a cellphone would be during various situations.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Smith. The only reason Jackie goes along on his expedition is because he donates lots of money to museums. He later tries to pay the Muntab chief in exchange for their secret to eternal youth.
  • Too Dumb to Live: The Muntabs notice their chalice is missing and accuse Jackie even though he had been dancing in front of them and couldn't have stashed it given its too big for his pockets. Might be justified since its their only way to continue living.
    • Smith is unconcerned that the helicopter he’s in is going to crash, claiming that he and his butler are immortal. He doesn’t seem to know the difference between eternal youth and eternal life. It's only dumb luck that he and his butler survive the crash.
