Tropes

  • Composite Character: Blizzard this cartoon is based off like the original Blizzard from the comics, Gregor Shapanka, as a former Stark employee but has the identity of the better known Blizzard, Donald Gill, as well as having the origin story and engineering skill of Shapanka.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Blizzard is a power-armoured, disfigured supervillain with an icy theme, freeze-ray and a past as a disgruntled cryonicist seeking retribution against a Corrupt Corporate Executive he used to work for, Blizzard is the show's answer to the DCAU's Mr. Freeze. Though unlike Freeze, Gill is faking a sympathetic backstory and said Executive was fully justified in shutting him down, due to Gill being a nut job.
  • Curse Cut Short: In the opening of the episode when Tony is investigating a break in at a Stark facility and asks Rhodey if they called the police, even though Rhodey is tired.
Rhodey: Dude, it's really early for this sh—*jet boot noise*
  • Excellent Judge of Character: Rhodey rightfully believes there is something is quite wrong about Blizzard, when Tony teams up with the latter in this episode.
  • I Lied: Blizzard claimed that Stane took his research and weaponised it as justification for his revenge, and that an accident Stane caused gave him a criminal record and made him lose his family. But then it’s revealed that the machine was always a weapon, Gil doesn't have a wife or children like he claimed, he had a criminal record long before the accident, committing crimes such as illegal experimentation and technology theft, Stane hired him straight out of prison, and Gill simply wants revenge for being fired.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Blizzard manipulated Tony/Iron Man into helping him attacking Stane this episode.
  • Mythology Gag: Rhodey notices an armor design with the infamous roller skates. Tony's comment is not unlike what the person who came up with that idea might say: "It seemed like a good idea at the time".
  • Save the Villain: After realizing how helped Blizzard get the weapon he needs to revenge on Stane, which will a lot of people at Stark International hurt, Tony saves Stane from Blizzard.
