Go To

"House's Head" Part 1 of 2.

Directed by: Greg Yaitanes

Written by: Peter Blake and David Foster

Dr. House is at a club getting a lap dance. But he can't enjoy the woman because someone's going to die. He walks out to the street, where he sees firefighters and police at an accident scene.

At the hospital, Dr. Cameron stitches House up. House is convinced he saw someone on the bus show a minor symptom of a major disease. House claims that a man with a stiff neck has meningitis and orders quarantine for the whole emergency room.

Dr. Chase hypnotizes House so that he can remember what happened before the accident.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Bland-Name Product: All the beer, wine and liquor in House's hypnotic vision of the bar has generic labels, "BEER", "WINE" or "LIQUOR".
House: God, I hate "Beer" brand beer.
  • Imagine Spot: Dr. House imagines Dr. Cuddy dancing like a stripper on the bus.
  • No Bisexuals: Dr. House very rudely calls Dr. Hadley "lesbian" as if that were her name. She thinks he can't remember her name, so he then calls her "Thirteen" (not her name either, but it is what he usually calls her). She also protests she's not a lesbian, to which House retorts that he was "rounding up."
  • The Reveal: The person House couldn't remember? Amber.
  • Shout-Out: To Altered States, which Hadley believes was released before she was born (the movie came out in 1980).
