After days of constant arguing, Kevin decides that he's Gretel's nemesis now, informing her that he won't help her out fighting supervillains anymore, and do his own thing instead. He keeps his word as Hamster and Gretel go confront The Destructress and FistPuncher, a pair of supervillain siblings, only to find themselves struggling without Kevin's quick thinking.
Tropes:
- An Aesop: Delivered early on by Hamster, with a side of Lampshade Hanging.Hamster: Sibling rivalry is the only contest where no one wins. Sorry, I was reading my fortune cookie. I'm sure it doesn't apply to you guys.
- And whenever you try to fight bad guys, it's important to have coach or someone to help you if the situation is too difficult.
- Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better: Kevin uses Lyle and Lauren's sibling rivalry to his advantage by tricking them into freeing Gretel with a lifting contest to see who is best.
- Blatant Lies: Kevin claims that he loves it at the mall, is definitely not bored, and definitely doesn't want to know if Gretel and Hamster are all right. Fred sees right through, as she notices he spends more time checking his phone than eating his pastry roll.
- By Wall That Is Holey: FistPuncher tries to hit Hamster with a crane arm, but Hamster just happens to fit through the lattices.FistPuncher: Why can't I hit you with something that's permeable?
- Evil Counterpart: Lyle and Lauren to Kevin and Gretel, not only by the fact that they received their superpowers from the same aliens as Hamster and Gretel, but down to their arguing as well.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: After the Destructress and FistPuncher drop a barrage of large and heavy things on Hamster and Gretel to trap them, Kevin tricks them to lift them off Gretel and Hamster under the pretense to see which of the two villains is stronger.
- Rules Lawyer: A ship thrown by FistPuncher is headed to a boardroom where a meeting is taking place. A woman notes the incoming ship and asks to evacuate, but the manager insists on first looking for the correct procedure for this situation in the manual. Had it not been for Hamster and Gretel catching the ship in time, it would have crashed into the building while everyone was waiting for the manager to finish looking it up. The gag is later repeated with a support beam, but this time Hamster and Gretel were indisposed; luckily, all the beam does is go through the window and knock the manual off the manager's hand, leaving him at a loss over what to do next.
