Nick and Wu discover an Orgy of Evidence

'Perhaps some accident has befallen him,' said the king, and the next day he sent out two more huntsmen who were to search for him.

Nick is put in a tricky situation when he discovers that the suspect in his latest case is a freedom fighter trying desperately to escape the clutches of a Wesen bounty hunter. Rosalee finds herself in danger when she and Monroe hide the suspect from the bounty hunter, and Nick is forced to choose whether to respond as a cop or a Grimm.

This episode provides examples of:

  • The Alibi: Rosalee clears Ian of killing the bartender since the bartender was killed four hours before Nick arrives, well after Ian arrived at the spice shop.
  • Call-Back:
  • False Flag Operation: The bounty hunter, Edgar Waltz, kills a random Wesen bartender and leaves Ian's passport at the scene to frame him.
  • Fantastic Racism: Edgar Waltz enforces for a group that opposes inter-Wesen species marriage. He treats Rosalee to a Motive Rant about purity while he has her hostage.
Edgar Waltz: You may think I'm a monster, but what I am is necessary. No society would survive without order. Free thought is not free. There's no such thing as revolution. The oppressed always become the oppressors and the cycle repeats itself over and over. The only way to win is to stay out of the cycle. [Beat] You don't understand a word that I've been saying.
    Rosalee: I'm sorry, I wasn't listening.
  • I Have Your Wife: Edgar Waltz takes Rosalee hostage and demands Ian Harmon in exchange. He finds Rosalee in the first place by threatening the family of the Wesen shopkeeper she goes to for Ian's false passport.
  • Hollywood Silencer: Waltz uses a Luger P08 pistol fitted with a silencer as his main weapon.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: Nick faces this when he lets Ian, the head of the Resistance, go after Ian killed a defenseless man in front of Nick and had Monroe dump the body away from Rosalee's shop all to protect his friends. So in sum, he picked Good.
  • Self-Defense Ruse: Alluded to when Edgar Waltz breaks into Renard's apartment to talk to him.
Renard: I don't care if you are working for the Verrat. The next time you let yourself into my home uninvited, I will shoot you. In self-defense, of course.
  • Trespassing to Talk: The bounty hunter approaches Renard by lurking in his apartment.
