A jewelry store is robbed and the owner killed, after he eats three gold coins. Nick notices that Harper, Hank, and Renard act strangely after having the coins in their possession. Nick learns something about his past and a link is made to history.
This episode provides examples of:
- Actor Allusion: A mysterious stranger, played by Titus Welliver, comes to town in pursuit of the coins but also with a connection to Nick's past. As Nick and Hank are investigating him, they remark about how nearly all of the clothing that he owns is black.
