Recap / Greatest Freakout Ever 1

Go To

Jennifer cancels Stephen's World of Warcraft account, and Stephen reacts by throwing an unholy fit in his room, screaming, ripping his clothes off, slamming his head with his shoe, and most infamously, trying to shove his television remote up his ass. Little does he know that his younger brother Jack snuck into his room and planted a camera, and caught the whole thing on tape.

  • All There in the Manual: Over a decade after the video was uploaded, Jack revealed the reason why Stephen's World of Warcraft account got cancelled in a live stream. Stephen was skipping school to play the game and his mother found out.
  • Angrish: Stephen is so enraged in this video that he can barely string together coherent sentences, with there still being debate to this day over exactly what he's saying at some points during his tantrum.
  • Ass Shove: To this day, the most memorable and oft-referenced thing in the entire series is Stephen trying to shove a television remote up his ass while in the middle of his raging temper tantrum. When asked about it later, he can't really justify why he did it.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": After Stephen's tantrum goes on for a little over a minute, his father has had enough and yells for him to shut up. It actually works, as Stephen does seem to calm down a bit and leaves the room.
  • Blinded by Rage: Stephen is so angry about losing his World of Warcraft account that he doesn't wonder why his little brother was in his room and doesn't notice the camera that was planted on his dresser.
  • Percussive Therapy: Stephen does a lot of this, slamming doors and banging his head with a shoe.
  • Riddle for the Ages: Was the video scripted or real? While it's been determined beyond all reasonable doubt that most, if not all, of the later episodes of the series are fake and being acted out by the family, many believe that this one was a real temper tantrum that Jack caught on tape, and after seeing how successful the video was the two decided to run with it as a series.
  • The Runaway: Stephen threatens to become one after his mother cancels his World of Warcraft account.
