Final Fantasy XI: Mirage Minstrel

After the victory over the Twilight God Promathia in the world of Abyssea, Prishe decides to stay in the Empyreal Paradox, becoming its only inhabitant there. As she grows bored from loneliness, a strange light shows up leading her to a crystal, taking her to another world as she picks it up.

Meanwhile the Grandcypher's crew has accepted a monster extermination quest from a man named Chrys, who also guided them to its location. While the monster's docile nature raised suspicions about the client, the Captain and Lyria found themselves sucked into an alternate world before they could do anything about it.

Tropes

  • Crossover: With Final Fantasy XI.
  • Crossover Alternate Universe: Chrys's world contains elements from both Granblue Fantasy and Final Fantasy XI. The event ends with the denizens of the Sky Realm, Vana'deil, and Abyssea returning home with their memories lost.
  • Death Seeker: With the War being over, the primal beast Chrysis lost his meaning of life, accepting his fate to be eaten by Shinryu. This only caused him to live on and decides to devour the Sky Realm since he's unable to die.
  • Disability Immunity: Downplayed. While Iroha can still be mind read, her Laser-Guided Amnesia causes any attempts doing so to spew out nothing.
  • The Nondescript: The Adventurer makes an appearance at the end of chapter 6, taking shape as a silhouette of the player's choice of race (or as a silhouette of the Captain if the player chooses "Can't recall").
  • Identical Stranger: Justified as Chrys admired the Adventurer's stories that he copied the looks of someone the Adventurer knows that fits closely to his own story, Joachim.
  • Protagonist Title: The minstrel in the event's title refers to Chrys, who got the role from the stories he told to Diella Village.
  • Superdickery: Chrys wanted backup to defend his home island from Abyssean friends. The way he did it involves using the forbidden arts to travel across worlds and essentially abducting the Captain and Lyria.
  • The Unchosen One: Chrys intended to have the crew of the Grandcypher to help him. The denizen of Vana'deil and Abyssea are only dragged in due to Chrys subconsciously thinking about the Adventurer when he was procuring the pathfinder stone.
